I spent years trying to think my way into confidence.
Mindset shifts, affirmations, to-do lists, five-step plans.
They helped—briefly. But they didn’t stick.
Because the truth is: confidence doesn’t live in the mind. It lives in the body.
Especially for ADHD women—who are often brilliant, big-hearted, and deeply self-aware—confidence isn’t about knowing more or trying harder.
It’s about feeling safe enough to show up.
Your Nervous System Is Running the Show
Every moment, your nervous system is scanning for one thing:
“Am I safe?”
Not just physically—but emotionally, socially, sensually.
If you’ve spent years masking, people-pleasing, overworking, under-resting, or being misunderstood, your system may register basic aliveness—joy, creativity, attention, power—as threatening.
It’s not that you don’t want confidence.
It’s that your body thinks it’s dangerous.
ADHD and the Myth of “Just Try Harder”
So many of us with ADHD have internalised shame:
-
For being “inconsistent” or “flaky”
-
For not finishing things
-
For forgetting the basics
-
For being too intense, too sensitive, too emotional
We try to think our way into being better.
We try harder, plan more, mask harder.
But that’s like shouting at a fire alarm when what it needs is air.
Until your nervous system feels safe, your body will resist everything that looks like expansion.
This Is Where Embodiment Comes In
Embodiment isn’t about dancing naked under the moon—unless you want it to be.
It’s about re-learning how to live inside your body.
To feel. To breathe. To notice what’s true.
To practise safety, not just think about it.
Because when your body starts to feel safe:
-
You stop spinning in thought loops
-
You stop abandoning yourself mid-idea
-
You stop performing, masking, and second-guessing
-
You start showing up, naturally, with confidence that’s rooted and real
The Work
In my 1:1 sessions we don’t focus on performance.
We focus on reconnection.
We practise:
-
Nervous system awareness – learning what safety actually feels like
-
Body-based tools – to soothe, regulate, and reconnect
-
Feminine embodiment – sensuality, voice, power, groundedness
-
Expression – speaking, sounding, feeling, being heard
-
Sacred rebellion – unlearning the rules that made you disconnect in the first place
This isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about becoming you—fully, unapologetically, in your skin, in your truth.
You Don’t Need More Willpower
You need more body.
If your mind is tired, if your soul is hungry, if your confidence feels paper-thin…
Start with your body.
Because confidence isn’t a mindset—it’s a nervous system state.
And it’s one you can practise, gently, until it feels like home.
