The heart continually breaks open. People come and go, relationships change, lives unravel, but the love itself remains. You always have access to it.

When things end, it hurts deeply — even when ending is the right thing. The heart breaks open around the loss of touch, routine, connection, attachment. The mind panics. The body panics too. Brain chemistry keeps us attached long after something has finished, even when we know it is unhealthy or not right for us.

But attachment is not the same thing as love.

Love itself does not disappear.

It lives inside us. No one can take that away. The love we felt was real, and it remains part of us whether that person stays in our life or not.

It takes time to recovering from attachment. From habit. From longing. From the nervous system learning how to exist again without that person beside us.

And during that process the ego tricks us into believing we are lost forever. That this was the only love of our life. That we will never feel whole again.

But that simply isn’t true.

We can return to ourselves. We can come back to centre and feel nourished again, with or without another person there.

If a love is truly right, life has a way of bringing things back into alignment.

And if not, something better, healthier, deeper, or more true will eventually arrive.

But either way, the profound love is within you. It is you.
